The University is based on a spectacular campus in central Scotland . It is located 2.5km from the historic city of Stirling and 60km from the cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Stirling is also within easy reach of the Scottish Highlands, which offer some of Europe 's most beautiful countryside.

The campus provides a peaceful, safe environment - perfect for study, and an ideal “home away from home”. It contains all teaching and learning facilities, plus accommodation for 2,000 students. A dedicated prayer room for Muslim students is located at the centre of campus. Other facilities on campus include a bank, chemist, medical centre, bookshop and travel agency, plus extensive social facilities, including cafes/bars, nightclub, cinema and theatre. Stirling has first-class sports facilities, and is one of the UK 's leading universities for sport.

The University has 10,000 students in total, 14% of whom are from overseas. With over 80 nationalities represented on campus, Stirling is a truly international institution.
