British Council Lithuania is starting a series of Café Scientifique where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. It is a concept that has been adapted by the British Council to engage a wider audience with science and the impact it has on our lives. Café Scientifique initiates conversations and discussions about the connections between science, technology and society.

Format
Events begin with a short talk from a speaker who is usually a scientist or science writer. In contrast to a formal lecture, the informal café/bar setting encourages people of various backgrounds and disciplines to take part.

Audience
The events are accessible to members of the general public or to an invited audience and no scientific background is necessary - just an interest in the topic for discussion.
