CLIC programme

The project CLIC (Creativity, Leadership, Inspiration and Culture) will provide you with the preparation and opportunity to work in a Lithuanian school on a voluntary basis offering five days of your time to support young people (age 9-12) in solving a real challenge in their local community using creative and entrepreneurial approaches. UK based organization Creativity, Culture and Education (CCE) will bring their UK experience in unlocking creativity and entrepreneurship in schools to support young creative entrepreneurs (YCE) to develop their understanding and skills to work effectively with young people in formal education

YCE participants will need to:

  • Be available to participate in the project between March and July 2011.
  • Participate in a two day development workshop on 28 and 29 March 2011
  • Design and lead practical project with schools between April 1st and the 30 June 2011.
  • Engage in up to 4 hours of communication with their project mentor.
  • Participate in a one day reflection day on June or July (the exact date will be decided on the first meeting).”

YCE participants will receive:

  • High quality professional development including a course handbook, workshop sessions as part of a two day workshop and mentored support to complete a project with young people in a school
  • Critical debate around creativity and entrepreneurship
  • The opportunity to design and lead a project with a school
  • The opportunity to reflect on your practice and complete a professional development plan
  • Access to new networks and opportunities

Who is eligible to apply?

Successful applicants will need to be open to developing their own practice and express an interest in developing new approaches and perceptions to creative learning. To be eligible to apply for CLIC, you must be the young creative entrepreneur. You need no experience of working within educational settings but you must be able to take part in all parts of the programme. The programme requires no formal education to apply.

Selection Criteria

We will only select 10 young creative entrepreneurs. Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Creative originality and professionalism in their work
  • Inspiring ideas about how this programme  might help develop their own practice
  • An interest in working with young people age 9-12 within a school environment
  • Good communication skills
  • A passion to share and communicate creative ideas and skills
  • Openness to sharing their experiences and professional learning with other YCEs
  • An openness to reflecting on your own professional development through contributing fully to the CLIC programme
