These exams are commonly known as O-levels, provide a foundation for further study or employment. They are available in a wide range of subjects covering the whole curriculum. O-level courses are usually taken over a period of two or three years. Most candidates take O-level examinations when they are 16 years old. T
A-levels, are used internationally as pre-university qualifications. They are available in a broad range of subjects covering the whole curriculum. Usually, A-level courses immediately follow on from O-level courses and last for two years. Most candidates enter between 2 and 4 subjects at the age of 18.
The AS level is offered in most subjects. The subsidiary is a new way of facilitating staged assessment. The subject contents of the new A-level syllabuses have been subdivided into two parts. The AS syllabus content, which is expected to be covered in the first half of the course, and the second part of the syllabus, commonly referred to as A2, taken in the end of the second year of study.
Students who pass the exam receive internationally recognised certificates.
