Towards Better Skills Education

Skills for Employability

Middle East

The Skills for Employability programme aims to encourage skills development in the Middle East by supporting national reforms in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) and encouraging closer links between education and industry.

The programme includes a series of themed workshops, seminars, awards and training sessions for policy makers and practitioners to facilitate international exchange of best practice in TVET, promote inter-cultural dialogue and address the shared challenges of globalisation.

As part of the programme, the British Council also facilitates partnerships between educational institutions in the UK and institutions in various Middle Eastern countries to support the sharing of knowledge and experience, and the development of best practice in a range of areas.

The British Council has developed a website to provide high quality, up-to-date information on TVET in all the countries of the region and the UK to help share knowledge and support international engagement in the skills sector. View the website.
