Education and employability policy dialogue
Prime Minister's Initiative - PMI2 Connect

What is the theme of this Policy Dialogue?

Following a series of preliminary meetings in Nigeria and a Nigerian delegation visit to the UK in June, the issue identified as the topic for the Policy Dialogue is Education and Employability.

Education and Employability closely complements national agendas in both Nigeria and the UK. It is an issue that is being faced simultaneously by governments, education institutions, employers and students across the globe. The dialogue will also address how issues such as capacity building, access to Higher Education, cross-border education and quality assurance might be addressed in taking the employability agenda forward in the Nigerian and UK context.

This dialogue is aimed at senior policy makers from the Ministry of Education responsible for higher education, the National Universities Commission, and vice-chancellors  or pro-vice-chancellors of Higher Education Institutions.

Once our three day dialogue is concluded, our intention is to take forward the debate through the development of a series of events and papers that will then be made available to the wider HE community.

How can I get involved?

The British Council is currently inviting expressions of interest from Vice Chancellors or Pro Vice Chancellors from UK HEIs with an interest in Nigeria to the next dialogue. Please send expressions of interest to Suzie Gardiner: Suzanne.gardiner@britishcouncil.org
