Above and Beyond 2009
Creating a curriculum for global citizens

Wednesday 18 November 2009
QEII Conference Centre, Westminster, London

Welcome to the British Council’s Above and Beyond conference for schools and local authorities.  This year, we’ll be showing you how to get creative with your curriculum through international school partnerships and schemes.

We’ll give you practical ideas and support with international projects for all educational phases and subject areas.  Meet your curriculum targets and develop pupils’ understanding of the wider world at the same time – through our unparalleled range of free international partnership programmes and professional development opportunities.

Whatever your subject or phase, from KS1 literacy to KS4 science, sharing your ideas and work with teachers and learners in schools around the world can really bring the curriculum alive.  Let your pupils find out about the world firsthand from their peers in countries from Spain to Sudan; from Chile to China.

We’ll have inspiring plenaries, practical workshops and a major exhibition of leading education organisations, as well as plenty of opportunities to network and share good practice.  Whether you’re an experienced international practitioner, or just starting out, Above and Beyond can help you develop today’s learners into tomorrow’s global citizens.
