The LearnEnglish Elementary Podcast is like a radio magazine programme. There are seven or eight different parts or articles in each programme.

With each programme, you can:

  1. Listen to the podcast
  2. Practise your English
  3. Read the transcript - see what they say

LearnEnglish Elementary Podcasts are for learners at Elementary level or who are who are trying reach CEF Level A2 (Council of Europe Framework of Reference). For this trial period, we will publish a new podcast every month.

2: Practise your English with Elementary podcast 06

You can practise your English either on paper (via our 'Support Pack') or online.

2: PRACTISE YOUR ENGLISH SECTION-BY-SECTION

Section 1 - Conversations in English:

“I've had a nightmare journey” – arriving late

When travelling around - especially in big cities - there are sometimes problems that mean you arrive late.

Practice materials (in Support Pack or online):
Learn how to speak/practise speaking about arriving late because of problems when travelling.

Section 2 - I’d like to meet
This section starts: 02mins.20secs into the podcast
Listen to Vanessa talking about why she would like to meet artist Frida Kahlo.

Practice materials (in Support Pack or online):
Write about a famous artist that you’d like to meet

Section 3 -  Quiz
This section starts: 06mins.20secs into the podcast
The quiz in this podcast is called ‘Beginning with…’ – for example, ‘think of an animal beginning with ‘p’ – the answer could be ‘polar bear’ or ‘pig’ – there are lots of possibilities.

Think of words in different categories starting with different letters.

Section 4 - Our person in ...
This section starts: 10mins.30secs into the podcast
Listen to Rebecca talking about Kazakhstan.

Section 5 - Your turn

In ‘Your Turn’, you hear 5 people answer the question “How green are you?"

Caroline goes to the university 'Societies Bazaar', where all the first year students come and choose the different clubs and interest groups they want to join.

A rabbit goes into a butcher's shop and asks for some carrots ...

The famous artist I want to meet is the Professor.I can not remember where he came from but he was not Thai nationallity.His arts are sculptures,the most favourite I like is the Victory Monument.He also was a teacher that he had taught thai artists.
