Not just high street stores

Many shops and businesses are dependent on the music scene.  DJs scour small, specialist record shops for rare records to use in their mixes.  Fans trade second hand records of their favourite cult bands.  Sometimes people just "hang around " the shops, meeting and talking to people with the same interests.

These shops are smaller than the music megastores such as HMV and Virgin which are found on nearly every high-street.  They cater for specialist music, and take it very seriously.  You won't find the top 40 singles on sale in these shops!
