Have you ever played the board game Snakes and Ladders? You throw a dice and move a counter across the board. There are ladders connecting some of the squares on the board to other squares. If your counter lands at the bottom of a ladder you move up to the top. But there are also snakes connecting some of the squares to others. If your counter lands on the head of a snake you move down to the tip of the tail. The player who gets to the last square on the board first is the winner.
Learning Ladder is the same as this, except each time you throw the dice you have to answer a question correctly before your counter (in this case a person) can move across the board.
