The Rumble in The Jungle was an historic boxing event that took place on October 30, 1974, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, then known as Zaire. It pitted then world Heavyweight champion George Foreman against former world champion and that time challenger Muhammad Ali, who was looking to become the second fighter ever, after Floyd Patterson, to recover the world's Heavyweight crown.

Person
Tarzan, a character created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, first appeared in the 1914 novel Tarzan of the Apes, and then in twenty-three sequels. Tarzan is the orphaned son of aristocratic English parents marooned in Africa in the late 19th century. Upon their deaths, he is adopted and raised by a band of apes which Burroughs calls "mangani," a species not otherwise known to science, but with characteristics of gorillas, chimpanzees, and early hominids, including a primitive form of speech. "Tarzan" is "White Skin" in the mangani language. His "real" English name is John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke.

Numbers
It is sometimes estimated that rainforests provide up to 40% of the oxygen currently found in the atmosphere, although this figure is strongly disputed by some groups and scientists, who say that it is only young, fast-growing trees that produce oxygen, and even that the rainforests may be a net consumer of oxygen.

It is estimated that the rainforest was reduced by about 58,000 km² annually in the 1990s. Rainforests used to cover 14% of the Earth's surface. This percentage is now down to 6% and it is estimated that the remaining natural rainforests could disappear within 40 years (mid-21st century) at the present rate of logging.

Biologists have estimated that large numbers of species are being driven to extinction, possibly more than 50,000 a year, due to the removal of habitat with destruction of the rain forests.

Thing
A liana is a type of plant. They are woody climbers and are especially characteristic of tropical moist deciduous forests and rainforests. These climbers often form bridges between the forest canopy and connect the entire forest and provide many arboreal animals with paths across the forest without them having to descend from the trees.

Literature
The Jungle Book (1894) is a collection of stories written by the famous author Rudyard Kipling while he was living in Vermont. All of the stories were previously published in magazines in 1893-4. The best-known of them are the three stories revolving around the adventures of an abandoned 'man cub' Mowgli who is raised by wolves in the Indian jungle. The most famous of the other stories are probably "Rikki-Tikki-Tavi", the story of a heroic mongoose, and "Toomai of the Elephants", the tale of a young elephant-handler.
