History
The Galapagos Islands in Ecuador was the first site inscribed in 1978. This was followed by the City of Quito, also in Ecuador, Aachen Cathedral in Germany, and L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site in Canada.

Leonardo da Vinci, whose work ‘The Last Supper’ is in the Church and Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Antoni Gaudí (all his works) and Victor Horta (Major Town Houses in Brussels) are three artists/architects whose names appear on the World Heritage List.
