The highest estimated birth rate was 52 births per 1,000 people, for Niger in 1998. This figure has not changed dramatically since 1980 when the figure was 51 births per every 1,000 people. This compares to the United Kingdom with 13 births per 1,000 people in 1980 and 12 births per 1,000 people in 1998.
