Survival is when a person, organization, etc. continues to live or exist, especially after coming close to dying or being destroyed or after being in a difficult or threatening situation.
Rescue refers to operations that usually involve the saving of life, or prevention of injury. Rescue operations are sometimes supported by special vehicles such as fire engines and might include the use of special tools such as search dogs or helicopters.
