MultiTalks - Mobile Identities

MultiTalks – Mobile Identities will take place at the British Council on January 31, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. The program of the event includes meeting with the head of International Organization of Migration Riga office, Dr. Ilmārs Mežs, watching a British documentary Moving to Mars and a discussion after the film. The program will be enriched with comments from a British expert in diversity issues Mr. Tristan Ace about the topicality of this film and the situation of Burmese refugees in Great Britain. Going Global 2012
Going Global is a series of international educational conferences hosted by the British Council, and the next conference will take place from 13 to 15 March 2012 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London. This year’s overall conference theme is “Changing education for a changing world”, and the sub-themes are “The future world”, “The connected world”, and “Winners and losers”. The programme will include a series of plenary and parallel sessions, workshops, poster presentations, networking events and an accompanying exhibition. IATEFL 46th annual international conference
IATELF stands for the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language and its mission is to link, develop and support English Language Teaching professionals throughout the world. It holds its International Annual Conference & Exhibition every spring, and the 46th IATEFL Annual International Conference and Exhibition will be held in Glasgow 19-23rd March, in the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre. BETT Show 2012
The BETT show is the most comprehensive and prestigious event in the UK’s educational calendar, attracting more than 600 educational suppliers and around 30,000 visitors. It brings together the global teaching and learning community for four days of innovations, seminars and international networking. It attracts around 5000 international visitors each year, because of the UK’s continuing lead in the creative application of ICT in Education. SUSTAINABLE OPPORTUNITIES WORKSHOP 2011

Young Creative Entrepreneur Club (YCE Club) networking event #6 “SUSTAINABLE OPPORTUNITIES WORKSHOP 2011”. The workshop will take place over two days – 29&30th November, 2011, at Birojnīca, and will feature three British experts – Guy Robinson, Dr Jonathan Chapman and Simon O’Rafferty who will share their experience and expertise on such areas as sustainable design and the newest tendencies in the UK, de-materialisation, the ethics of design in the age of over-consumption, strategies and principles of sustainable design, etc. In addition to the presentations, the participants will be able gather insight into types, principles and aims of sustainable design, develop their networking skills, knowledge and professional skills.
