Young Creative Entrepreneur Club (YCE Club) networking event will take place on Thursday, 10th of February from 16:00 – 17:30 at Stockholm School of Economics in Riga , Strelnieku Str. 4a, auditorium W-32. During the YCE Club event two experienced and highly appreciated UK music industry professionals will share their experiences and expertise related to music industry conferences and showcase events:
Martin Elbourne, one of the main bookers for Glastonbury Festival, creative director and co founder of The Great Escape http://escapegreat.com in Brighton (Europe’s leading showcase festival), co founder of M for Montreal and advisor/consultant to Lovebox, Guilfest, Jersey Live, Redfest and M for Montreal. He is currently involved with a new festival in India. In 1982 he co-promoted the first WOMAD festival with Peter Gabriel. In 1983 he moved to London, worked for the Rough Trade booking agency looking after acts including The Smiths and New Order and he began his long involvement with Glastonbury Festival.
Nigel Templeman, manager at Supervision Management that roster includes amongst others, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, White Lies, We Have Band, As Tall As Lions, e.t.c. N. Templeman’s previously forked for Arista Records, London Records and Chrysalis Music Publishing.
The aim of the seminar is to examine and discuss the importance of the music industry conferences and showcase festivals in terms of bands’ further international career development and networking possibilities. M.Elbourne being co-founder of Great Escape will explain the structures and essence of those events while N.Tempeman will examine those events from the manager’s point of you and will share the knowledge what tools are necessary for the successful participation and how to make most of it. The seminar will be hosted by Guna Zucika, International exploitation manager for leading Latvian band BrainStorm and British Council International Young Music Entrepreneur Award winner in 2007.
Latvia’s music industry representatives and musicians are welcome to take part. Online registration form and additional information can be found below.
