About Intercultural Navigators project
New initiative “Intercultural Embassy invites…”

British Council announces that the application process for Latvia’s Intercultural Navigators closed on Thursday, May 21. We have received 63 outstanding and inspiring applications from individuals with different professional, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, experiences and interests all united in their motivation to engage in the Intercultural Navigators project. Thank you for your responsiveness!

We have selected 23 brilliant Intercultural Navigators who will take part in the project’s trainings. The main selection criteria were: commitment and intercultural project ideas, expected multiplying effect and impact on the community. While forming the Intercultural Navigators team in Latvia we considered an additional criterion: group diversity - ethnical, cultural, regional and professional, age and gender.

However, we highly appreciate the other applicants’ interest in and potential involvement in the project. Inspired by such a great interest we plan to organize local project activities in order to give an opportunity for other applicants and the wider audience to be involved in discussions on intercultural issues.

Ilze Saleniece, British Council Latvia Partnerships and Projects Manager, will contact you by May 22 about further steps concerning the training and planned local activities.  

In Latvia, the Intercultural Navigators project is implemented jointly by the Lithuanian and Latvian British Council offices. The Lithuanian and Latvian navigators will constitute a single group during their training stage.

Training consists of 4 modules

1) Training module 1, June 6-7 - Latvia

2) Training module 2, June 27-28 - Lithuania

3) Training module 3, August 29-30 – Latvia

4) Training module 4, October 17-18 – Lithuania
