Anda Šaka, Association of Major Cities of Latvia
„In the centre of this project as well as in the agenda of the Association of Major Cities of Latvia is city, it’s development in different aspects (social, economical, cultural and environmental) and creative solutions for better living conditions and infrastructure development.
Future City Game helps players to create a network of people interested in sustainable urban regeneration and to generate the best idea to improve quality of life in cities. It is opportunity to find new unconventional and creative ideas or redefine already existing ones for the development of city.”

Ieva Hmieļevska, Culture department of Liepaja City Council
Ilona Asare, Culture Centre of Cesis City Council
"The Future City Game is a method, which always works - people start to solve the problems of their environment, working together. They start to think, what they would like to improve, considering all 4 aspects - environmental, economical, social and, of course, cultural aspects, which often are not valued as important as they really are. Future City Game gives people a vision where they would like to be, which is important on both levels - for an individual and a community. It is a pleasure and honour to be a witness of this intense brain-work and intense communication among people with different backgrounds, creating ideas for the future."

Viesturs Celmiņš, urban sociologist
“I 'do' Future City Game for at least three reasons. It is a smart and yet applicable way to deal with a variety of urban issues. It provides a somewhat flexible platform for a diverse public participation. And last but not least I find it challenging and personally transforming. I think thats what future is about.”

Vita Brakovska, NGO “Knowledge and Innovation Society”
“We all are creative but not all of us know how to benefit from own creativity. Future City Game is a tool which helps the players can identify internal creative resources and use them to formulate project ideas that meet local and global challenges. This is an opportunity to become a project idea leader and make the idea happen and be useful to its stakeholders.
My ambition within the Future City Game is to share my competence in order to prove that “we are not the future; we are the present of our country”.”
