Where can I go?

The UK is full of contrasts, from busy cities to the beautiful countryside, green hills, valleys and lakes. Wherever you are based, you will find a variety of landscapes and diverse cultures to explore. England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales are all unique countries with their own customs, cultures and traditions.

On your application form, you may make three choices from the regions shown on this map.

Posts are available in most regions of the UK, including The Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man and the Orkney Islands. There are very few posts in the most well-known areas, Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Brighton and Bath so do not expect to be automatically offered a post in one of these areas.

Posts exist in London, but tend to be very popular. Although there is an additional allowance for working in London, you should be aware that is is much more expensive to live here than any other part of the UK.

We recommend that you research different areas of the UK before making your regional choices.
