Personal Development Portfolio
Find out how the year abroad as an English Language Assistant can be accredited

We are aware of the rapid personal development that students undergo during their Year Abroad, and that former Assistants do not always articulate and take full advantage of the competitive edge they have gained from working abroad. We are keen to help them capitalise on their experience as much as possible and now propose in collaboration with university language departments, a model for a Personal Development Portfolio (PDP), for use by students on Language Assistantship placements.

This PDP meets QAA guidelines and can be adopted and/or adapted by universities for inclusion in Progress Files.

In seeking approval to implement the British Council PDP and to be eligible for certification, the relevant QA of the university needs to confirm that the key requirements of the British Council scheme have been met.

For further information you may download the documents below. If you need any further information about the PDP, please e-mail us.
