BE A LANGUAGE ASSISTANT IN CHINA
William Shaw, ELA to Jiaxing, China 2010-11

"Don’t worry about the details - they’ll sort themselves out. Stop thinking about it and do it!" Will Shaw, ELA China 2010-2011

"I applied for the ELA program without thinking too much about the reality of moving to China. A new, different (very different, in China's case) culture is obviously hard to adapt to, but I’m making the most of every opportunity that comes my way, whether it’s travelling round China and South East Asia, learning Chinese, spending time with Chinese families, or entering a fitness competition at my gym! The next few months will be even more exciting, as I have lots more planned.

I wanted to come to China to put myself out of my comfort zone for a change after 4 years of University, and I’ve definitely succeeded. Longer term, it’s made me think about what I want from life: I’ve realised that what I most want to do in life is live in lots of different countries and cultures, so I’ve started looking at careers that will allow me to do that."

"Don’t worry about the details - they’ll sort themselves out. Stop thinking about it and do it!"
