This Summer we are offering a range of interactive English courses during July and September for children and adults which aim to develop your ability to communicate with confidence in English.

Courses are 30 hours duration as follows:

YOUNG LEARNER COURSES

Interactive YL Courses
Fun interactive courses exploiting a range of media for Juniors (6 – 10 year olds) and Secondaries (11 – 15 year olds):

• Juniors
  A multi-media course including story books, songs, animation films, drama and group activities.
• Secondaries
  An interactive communicative language improvement course involving tasks using real material such as film, music and internet research.

Learners receive a EUR 30.00 discount on the second course if they attend both courses in July.

Children attending our Summer school will be supervised before class begins from 0900 – 1000. This is a free service.

Young learner students do not need to be tested before the courses start, but do need to complete an enrolment form with school details.

You can complete the form at home and post it to us with an accompanying cheque made out to the British Council.  
Alternatively, bring the completed form to any British Council centre (Lisbon, Miraflores, or Parede) to avoid delays.

ADULT COURSES

• Communicative Adults Courses
• Legal English
• IELTS Preparation (admission level: minimum intermediate)

Adult learners will need to take a level test which consists of a 20 minute written test and a 10 minute oral interview.

Communicative Adults Courses
Communicative language development courses at Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced levels.

Specialised Courses for Adults (admission level: minimum intermediate):

Legal English
This 30 hour course is intended for legal professionals, law students or people whose work involves some areas of legal knowledge. It will enable you to examine various aspects of common law systems, including contract, property, tax affairs, personal liability law (tort), and company law.   There is special emphasis on practical skills, such as drafting contracts, note-taking, understanding case law and law reports, and taking part in negotiations.

IELTS Preparation (admission level: minimum intermediate)
This is a 15 hour course designed for candidates wishing to prepare for the IELTS exam (academic module), and for students planning to study in an English medium university.
