The British Council co-funds and administers a series of research partnership programmes linking UK-based scientists with their opposite numbers in key countries across Europe. Deadline for applications is 16 March 2009 for the Netherlands programme and 21 March 2009 for the Belgium programme.
BBC World Service and the British Council launch an international radio playwriting competition. There are two categories: one for writers with English as their first language and one for writers with English as their second language. Deadline for submission is 31 March 2009. Belfast hosted a major bilateral conference between the UK and the Netherlands on 12, 13 & 14 October 2008. Citizenship and Communities: Identity and State in the 21st Century The Conference brought together young leaders from the UK and the Netherlands to address the themes of identity, citizenship and communities, and to encourage them to commit to taking positive action within their own societies.
