FameLab - an international science communication competition was created by the UK’s Cheltenham Science Festival to discover the new faces of science. FameLab was developed to encourage scientists to inspire and excite public imagination with a vision of science in the 21st century. This initiative proved so successful that the British Council adopted the model for its Beautiful Science regional project. FameLab was launched in Israel in March 2007 and Michal Dekel was its first winner. Our 2008 winner was Adi Yaniv.
- the search is on to find the best talent in science communication
What is FameLab looking for? FameLab is searching for the new science communicators in Israel who can present a 3 minute talk that is scientifically accurate, entertaining, exciting and appealing to a non-scientific audience. The competitions are in Hebrew. Contestants will have just 3 minutes to prove to a panel of judges they've got what it takes to make science alive. FameLab is open to postgraduate students, scientists, researchers and anyone working in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine.
