Networking and Funding Opportunities

We aim to help develop research links between higher education institutions and research centres and support the forming of new links between early-stage researchers in the UK and Israel. Funding opportunities are available for joint scientific research, exchange visits, networking conferences and workshops.

Britain-Israel Research and Academic Exchange Partnership
BIRAX (Britain-Israel Research and Academic Exchange Partnership) is a new partnership programme to foster academic cooperation between the UK and Israel. It was launched on 20 July 2008 by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Find out more

Science Networking Development Scheme
The SNDS (Science Networking Development Scheme) is a joint initiative of the UK Government Office of Science and the Israel Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport. It was established to encourage co-operation between professional scientists in both countries. The SNDS contributes travel and subsistence costs for missions and bilateral workshops. Find out more

Research Exchange Programme

The RXP (Research Exchange Programme) awards fund short term exchange visits for postdoctoral researchers to make international connections. These can be a single visit of between two weeks and three months duration. Find out more

International Networking for Young Scientists
INYS (International Network for Young Scientists) is a programme for bringing together young researchers from the UK and other countries to make new contacts and promote the creative exchange of ideas through conferences. Find out more

Scholarships
The prestigious Chevening award funds a number of Israelis to undertake postgraduate studies in the UK every year. Chevening and co-sponsor scholarships are administered by the British Council. Find out more
