Are you a scientist affiliated to a university or research institute in Israel or the UK, who would like to submit a proposal for a workshop, conference or exploratory mission? If you are, the Science Networking Development Scheme can help you do that
The Science Networking Development Scheme was set up in 2001 by the British and Israeli Governments. The purpose of the scheme is to help establish new collaboration and to encourage bi-lateral co-operation between practising scientists in both countries.
The UK Government Office for Science and the Israeli Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport jointly fund the SNDS. The British Council manages the scheme together with the International Scientific Relations Unit at the Ministry of Science & Technology
The SNDS is intended to promote meetings between a broad cross-section of UK-Israeli researchers and will specifically support proposals on topics, to which both governments attach priority, in the following areas:
Natural and Engineering Sciences |
Life Sciences |
Exact Sciences |
Information Technology |
In addition, consideration will be taken of UK and Israeli proposals which
Show potential for obtaining subsequent funding under the EU Framework Programme |
Encourage participation of young scientists |
The SNDS will contribute travel and subsistence costs for survey visits by scientific delegations, workshops or conferences (maximum of twelve funded participants, six from each country, per event). The SNDS does not provide funding for individual visits or exchanges.
Download the application form. The form should be completed with full details of the proposed activity and how it fits the SNDS criteria.
There are no deadlines however requests for funding should be received at least six months before an event is to take place
In addition to meeting the guidelines mentioned above, a detailed report will be required. The report must be written in English and sent to us and the Israel Ministry of Science & Technology, within two months of the event having taken place
