Funded by the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office and administered by the British Council, the scheme operates in over 150 countries and annually provides funding for over 2,300 students. The aim of the Chevening Scholarship Scheme is to give present and future leaders, decision-makers and particularly able students the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom. The awards are given to cover all or part of the cost of a course of post-graduate study in the UK. The scheme is open to all citizens of Kosovo who already have the academic background and work experience in related fields and wish to follow a post-graduate course in the UK.

There are changes to the application procedure this year and The system was developed as a response to the need for a more efficiently run scheme, as well as being in line with the Government’s promotion of the migration of as many public facing services into online electronic services as possible.
