Application for Chevening Scholarships

The E-Chevening website for applications for autumn 2010 is accessible from 15 October.

Applicants should apply to universities no later than November. If you are accepted, please send your admission letter to chevening@britishcouncil.or.kr by March 2010.

If you received a paper copy of the admission letter, please send us a scanned version of it  by e-mail.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP?

  1. Application through the E-Chevening website: 15 October 2009 – 7 December 2009
  2. Successful candidates at the first stage will be contacted individually around early February 2010
  3. Submit your IELTS certificate (report form – Academic module only), and the  documentation,listed below by 12 February 2010
  4. Interview: March 2010
  5. Final e-mail to the successful applicants: around April 2010

WHAT DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED TO SUBMIT?

Candidates will be contacted in early February 2010 regarding the status of their application. Successful candidates in the first stage must submit the following documentation (except no. 5) in English by 12 February 2010.

  1. Academic certificates for all your degrees above Bachelor
  2. Academic transcripts for your all degrees above Bachelor
  3. Certificate of employment for your present job. (If you are between jobs, the certificate of employment of your latest job is acceptable.)
  4. Reference letters from two referees
  5. Unconditional Offer Letter, Admission Letter and Acceptance Letter from your UK university (if it is available). If you are currently applying for a university place, you need to do this at the same time as you apply for the Chevening scholarship. Please submit this documentation by the end of March 2010.
  6. Recent IELTS Test (Academic module only) Report Form/Certificate (if it is available). The score needs to be 6.5 or above. TOEFL, TOEIC or other English tests are not accepted. (from 15 October 2007 to 30 November 2009)
    If you finished a regular degree course of more than two years less than two years before 15 October 2009 in an English-speaking country, the test is unnecessary. Please check this in advance if you are not sure.

If you finished a regular degree course, which is longer than 2 years, within two years from the point of deadline of application period(on 30 November 2009) in an English-speaking country, the test can be exempted. Please check this in advance, if you are not sure about this case.
