PCA English Adventure Bus is a programme to provide free English Language lessons and other aspects of British education to children around Korea via a teacher travelling on a bus, which itself is a mobile self-access educational facility. This is a partnership project between the British Council and PCA Life Korea. Since its launch in February 2007, the Bus has visited primary schools in Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, Busan, Incheon, Daejeon, Jeollanam-do, Gwangju, Gangwon-do and Chungcheongnam-do as well as SOS villages and community centres.
The project consists of three elements: a British Council teacher’s lessons, teacher training for Korean teachers and fun activities on the bus.
The objectives of the projects are as follows:
- To deliver free lessons in state schools which correlate to the Korean National Curriculum
- To carry out free in-school teacher training sessions
- To educate children from relatively underprivileged environments in English and knowledge about the UK, through an interactive on-board exhibition.
