We provide various educational events for children and their parents. A programme of events will be advertised each term.
- Vocabulary development sheets
From next term, we will be providing parents with lists of words that your children will learn at the British Council. Each term you will be provided with lists for each topic that children will cover in that term. Over the course of the term, teachers will be using these words to form the basis of each lesson, fully supporting your children in developing the ability to not just say the words, but use them in real and meaningful ways to communicate their thoughts and ideas through both writing and speaking.
The lists will comprise about 10-12 words for each topic. These 10-12 words are just a small part of what students will learn in the classroom. However, by ensuring they are comfortable and familiar with these core items, teachers are able to help students develop the language needed to utilise these words in conversation, building the words into sentences and questions. It is this move from using individual words to using whole sentences and questions which makes classes at the British Council so challenging for children.

A parents workshop is a session for parents who want to help their children learn English at home. Our teachers will demonstrate effective, motivating learning activities to use with your child that are based on the same methodology and approach we use in our lessons with children at the British Council. You only need a very basic elementary level of English to learn to use the tasks as we will use very visual demonstration, and a Korean interpreter will help explain what to do. Many parents find the workshops a very useful and enjoyable experience, we hope you will too!
