Can I register without taking a placement test?

Students who have obtained an IELTS Band 7 within the last 6 months can register without taking the test.

How long is my placement test result valid?

The result of your placement test, which indicates which courses are suitable for you, is valid for four months. If no suitable courses are available at your level during the registration period, you can go on a waiting list for the next term and register without re-taking the placement test.

Can I take the placement test again?

Existing students and newcomers who have taken a placement test within the last four months can't re-take a placement test.

What are the English for everyday use course about and what is the difference to other courses?

The English for Everyday Use courses run for six hours per week and follow a coursebook. Students will cover speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary in these lessons. During the course you will be continuously assessed by your teacher. You will receive individual counselling about your strengths and weaknesses, and you will get advice on what course to register for next. The end-of-level courses (Eg. Pre Intermediate 3) also have a formal level test in week six to check that you are ready to move on to the next level.

The other courses run for three hours per week. Some of these courses follow a course book whereas, in other courses, such as Academic Writing or the Business Skills Intensives your teacher will supply all the materials you need during the lesson. As these courses focus on specific skills in you will not move up to the next General English course having completed the course.

Can I register for a course after the term starts?

If you have already taken placement test and there is space in the course you want, you can register until the end of week two. For Saturday Business Intensives you can register any time before the course starts.

Can I change class after registration?

If you need to change class after registration, please speak to our Customer Services team to see if there is a vacancy in the class you wish to move to. You will need to bring your registration certificate to be able to change class.

How can I join a Saturday Business Intensive course?

These courses are for pre Intermediate 3 students and above. Please see our registration pages for full details.

Do I get a certificate at the end of my course?

After successfully completing a General English level (eg. Pre intermediate 3) you will receive a Certificate of Achievement.

If you attend more than 75% of a Special course you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

If you are not on an end of level General English course and you require a Certificate of Attendance please tell a member of our customer services team. These certificates cost KRW 1,000 and you must have attended at least 75% of the course to get one.

I need to get an attendance report / certificate / receipt. What should I do?

Contact our Customer Services team in person or on (02) 3702 0600. if you are studying at SNUE-BC Teaching Centre on (02) 3472 2381. We will need your personal details to process the request. There is a fee of W1,000 for each report sheet issued.

How can I get a refund?

Visit the Customer Services desk of the centre you are studying at and complete a Refund Request form. For a seven week course a full refund can only be given if it is requested before 1600 on the Friday before the term begins. If it is requested after this time, students are only entitled to a partial refund.
