the time travellers - the time of the dinosaurs
By Sue Clarke
It's the school holidays and Steve, Katie, Boff and Lauren are out with the dog, Benjie. They've found a special place that takes them back in time. They've just found themselves in a strange world with jungle plants and rocks and caves. And suddenly a dinosaur has appeared - an Albertosaurus, a relative of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. And it's taken Steve. What can the children do?

The dinosaur stamped along towards the mountains. The children tried to follow. They went past trees, bushes, and arrived at the edge of a lake. The dinosaur still held on to Steve.
"I hope this dinosaur's not hungry!" said Katie.

In the red sky the sun sank slowly. The red light shone on the water of the lake. It was starting to get dark.
"Oh no," said Lauren, "we'll never rescue him in the dark."

The dinosaur sat down under a huge tree next to the lake. The children were hiding behind a rock. Suddenly they heard a familiar noise behind them. 'Woof! Woof!'
"Benjie!" cried Katie. "He must have followed us!"
"He's the world's first time travelling dog!" said Lauren.
Benjie looked for Steve but he wasn't there. The dog made a crying noise.

"He knows Steve is in danger," said Katie.
"I've got a plan," said Boff. 'It's getting dark now, so the dinosaur must be sleepy. Let's all attack together."
