It was a Sunday afternoon in the school holidays and the children were bored. Nothing ever happened on Sunday afternoon. They were sitting in the garden of Steve and Katie’s house drinking orange squash. It was hot, and Benjie the dog was lying down with his paws over his face, snoring. Steve’s best friend Boff was there. He was spotty, tall and thin. Katie’s friend Lauren was there too. She was wearing her round glasses and her face was freckly – but she was very, very clever.

"Let’s take Benjie for a walk," said Steve. "I wonder if we’ll have another adventure."

The children left the house with Benjie dragging behind. He really didn’t want to go for a walk on such a hot day. They went to the park and watched the ducks swimming around on the pond. People sat around lazily watching them. They wandered into the field and looked at the wall.

"I’m sure it was there," said Lauren, "but now there’s nothing."
Boff went up to the wall and looked carefully.
"Look," he said, "this stone is loose."
He picked up a stone from the middle of the wall. Immediately a small door swung open.
"Aha!" he cried, "I’ve found it!’
He stepped through the doorway – and disappeared.
"Come on!" shouted Steve. "After him."

The children passed through the small door and again they felt themselves flying, flying through time. Where would they go to?

What would they see? The world went spinning by, round and round and round. They felt dizzy and sick but suddenly they fell to the ground and landed in a heap.
