I’m going to take you to an old city deep in the forested mountains of Romania.  It is already winter.  Snow glitters on the ground, the wind moans through the trees, high in the hills wolves are howling and the full moon shines cold and proud.

It is the night of 31st October, All Hallows Eve. Somewhere in the city, in an old old house, the Ghost family are preparing for Halloween. Today is a special Halloween – it’s Mary Ghost’s first Halloween.

The clock strikes 13.

“Ok Mary.  Time for you to go on your house haunting” said Ghosty mum.  “Be sure to make someone scream.  Do your best.  Be your scariest!”
