Find out how to join our Information and Learning Centre and take advantage of our services and products.

WHY JOIN THE ILC?

If you are a teacher of English, a young professional with language learning needs, an exam candidate, our Centre will be able to help you to develop your learning skills and become more successful. Our Centre offers the best resources on study skills, English language learning materials and e-learning resources as well as advice and support from our qualified staff. Members can also take part in our regular seminars and events.

ELIGIBILITY

The membership is eligible for the following categories:

  • Teachers of English
  • Last year students of English language faculties
  • Professionals with English Language learning needs
  • Exam candidates
  • Participants of the British Council projects

To become a member of our Centre you have to be a resident of Almaty or Almaty oblast. ILC membership is valid for three months only and may be renewed.

MEMBERSHIP ALLOWS YOU

  • to borrow a variety of learning and teaching materials
  • to use our learning facilities
  • to participate in our seminars and other activities
  • to have  free access to UK information websites and British Council learning websites
  • to receive personal and individualised advise from ILS assistants
  • to join reading groups and conversation club

HOW TO JOIN

To become a member you will need to:

  • complete a needs analysis questionnaire, available at the ILC
  • attend an interview with an ILC adviser
  • complete an application form
  • supply a stamped reference  letter (attached to the application form) from your head of department or employer
  • provide  one photo
  • pay the membership fee - 5000 tenge
  • your membership card will be ready in 15 minutes
