Political StudiesHistoryGeography MusicHolidays/CustomsLondon/New York SportsLiteratureEducation
- Then he/she explains the rules of the game.
They are the following: The game is played by two teams, which are named as NOUGHTS and CROSSES. A team chooses a subject in the table which it likes most of all, then answers a teacher’s question on the chosen subject. If the question has been answered correctly, the instructor draws a cross or a circle (depends on the name of the team which replied correctly) in the box with the subject. This team continues to play until it fails to answer the question. Then the turn passes to another team.
- The aim of the game is to fill boxes either horizontally, or vertically, or diagonally. The winner of the game is the team, which was the first to fill in the line.
- The instructor divides the class into two teams, and names them as Noughts and Crosses.
Activity You can find some examples of questions with the answers to them (in brackets). The contents of questions may vary depending on the syllabus. Any instructor can easily compose questions on any topic of the lesson. Download Model questions.
Post-Activity The game is over if a team answers correctly to questions of topics in a line. The winner may be rewarded by postcards with views of Great Britain or the USA, or just sweets. An additional task may be offered to students: to make up questions on a definite topic with a given answer and an indication of the source of information (formation of a database). This production can be used for future games based on the same principle.
