Clothes

Title: “What are the girls’ names?”

Language level of students: elementary
Age group: 8-10
Time: 15-20 min.
Skills / aspects focus: to develop vocabulary and listening skills.
Vocabulary: adjectives for colors and size, names of different clothes.
Grammar: structures have/has got, she is (to be), she likes/wears.
Resources and materials: 5 pictures (see the handout 3).

PROCEDURE

  • This activity can be used at the end of the topic when you want to assess your students’ knowledge on topic “Clothes”. You need 5 big pictures of different girls that are placed on the board.
  • Tell the students that their names are Mary, Natasha, Chris, Sally and Olga. You may write them on the board, too.
  • Then you read the descriptions of the girls’ clothes for the students to guess what their names are.
