PROCEDURE

  • This activity can be used at the end of the topic when you want to control your students’ knowledge on topic “Appearance”. You need 5 big pictures of different girls, which are placed on the board.
  • Tell the students that their names are Nataliya, Anna, Andrea, Julia and Lidia. You may write them on the board, too.
  • Then you read the descriptions of their appearance for the students to guess what their names are (see handout 1).

This activity can be used at different levels. You can make the description of the girls according to the students’ level. You may use another picture (see handout 2) to show. You may ask students to make descriptions and choose the best ones. So the variations of this activity can be different and numerous. You may use your own pictures taken from different women’s magazines. I am going to present one of the variations that I use to study the topic “Clothes”.
