Because successful Chevening candidates have declined funding at late notice, suitable candidates from Kyrgyzstan are being sought for 2011/12 Chevening scholarships.   

Candidates must meet all following criteria:

  • Be citizens of Kyrgyzstan
  • Have a good first degree (minimum Bachelor’s) from a recognized institution with excellent and good marks
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ full-time work experience in the area of proposed course of study in the UK and the chosen career at the time of application
  • Have excellent English language skills (minimum IELTS score 6.5)
  • Hold an unconditional offer for a Master’s course (12 months or less) starting this autumn in one of priority fields: Public Administration, Environment, Social Development, Human Rights, Media and Journalism, Urban and regional planning and land management, Education, Culture, Banking and Finance
  • Demonstrate how the new skills and knowledge acquired during study in the UK will contribute to change in Kyrgyzstan through further development in civil society, the market economy or governance.
