On 23 September EUNIC Almaty (the organisation of European Union National Institutes for Culture) is organising the CAFÉ.EUROPE in the Chukotka cafe, to celebrate the European Day of Languages. The event runs from 3 pm to 8 pm and is supported by the European Union Delegation in Kazakhstan and by Czech Airlines.
The programme includes an exhibition of European education, the theatrical performance The Bremen Town Musicians, cultural games and contests, as well as prize draws for free language courses and free language examinations. There will also be a prize ceremony for winners of EUNIC’s Two sides of Europe competition. The creator of the best video about European interesting facts will win a trip to a European country. A concert by The Powell’s music band will close the event.
EUNIC is a network of international cultural relations institutes of the member states of the European Union. Formed in 2006, it has over 30 members from 26 countries. EUNIC members work in over 150 countries with over 2,000 branches worldwide. They work in the arts, youth, education, intercultural dialogue and development sectors.
EUNIC Almaty was established by the Alliance Française Almaty, British Council, Comitato “Dante Alighieri” Almaty, Goethe Institute Almaty and Consulate General of the Republic of Hungary in May 2011.
