Who we are

The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We connect people worldwide with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK and build mutually beneficial relationships between people in the UK and other countries.

British Council operates in over 100 countries.

We have been working in Kazakhstan since 1994. We have offices in Almaty and Astana.

In the UK the British Council is registered as a charity (not-for-profit-organisation) and operates as an executive non-departmental public body. Our patron is Her Majesty The Queen and our Vice-Patron is His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales.

The United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
