NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR ENGLISH TEACHERS 2012

British Council is launching its 1st National Competition for English Teachers 2012 in cooperation with our partner Bureau for Education Services.

Through this competition, we would like to inspire all the teachers working in the public sector, both in primary and secondary schools across Montenegro, to use their creativity, knowledge and experience in the classroom, to create interactive, learner-centred English lessons using the many teaching resources available on the British Council websites.

Therefore, we invite you to join this competition, which is at the same time a great opportunity for professional development in the areas of “using modern technologies” and “interactive teaching”.

SO, WHAT IS THE COMPETITION ABOUT?

It is about making a short 10 minute video clip from your interactive English class which was created by using classroom materials and ideas from one of the following websites.

Use your telephone or camera to make this video clip, ask your students to help you, write a full lesson plan, and send them to us.

SO, HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THE COMPETITION?

  1. Go to the websites, one by one, and register in order to have full access to materials, lesson plans and other resources.
  2. Then, come back to this British Council country website and submit your application for the Competition HERE. Deadline is Monday 20 February.
  3. When you have filmed your lesson, copy the video clip on a DVD, and send it together with your full lesson plan to our postal address below by 2 March 2012.
  4. The lesson must be based on any chosen resource available on the five British Council websites and must be relevant to the school curriculum.

IMPORTANT!

The video clips must be submitted on a DVD clearly marked with the teacher’s name, school, town and grade to which the lesson plan relates to. The video clip needs to be accompanied by a full lesson plan written on paper or CD, also clearly marked with the teacher’s name, school, town. The lesson plan format should be the standard one used at school.

Submissions should be sent to the following address:
