To register, you need to download the IELTS application form. Print this off and complete in blue or black ink. You then need to bring this, in person, to our centre in Muscat, with two passport photographs, and a passport or national ID. Our centre is open from Saturday to Tuesday (0930 to 1900 hours) and Wednesday (0930 to 1900).

When can you take the test?
You will be advised of the exam venue and timing, when you register. Please bring your national identity card/passport, pen and pencil (an eraser and pencil sharpener. would also be useful).

There is a maximum number of candidates per test date, so please do not leave registering until the last minute, as you may not get a place.

How much will the test cost?
The test fee is OMR 75.

Prepare for the test
We can help you prepare for your test with an IELTS study pack, containing a CD-ROM, handbook and practice papers. The pack costs OMR15. You can also join one of our preparation courses to help you achieve the best possible results.

When and how will you receive your results?
Your results will usually be available after 1500, ten working days after the test date.

You will need to collect your results from our reception desk. You must bring your candidate number paper (from your test desk) and your national identity card/passport with you. Results cannot be given over the telephone, by fax or by e-mail.

What if I need to cancel or change the date of my test?
If you wish to cancel or change the date of your test, you must let us know at least five weeks before the test date, otherwise you will lose the whole fee and have to pay another test fee for the new date.

Candidates making any changes to a test date must give five weeks notice before the test date (cancellation or postponement), will be charged 10/-RO.

Can I retake the IELTS test?
Yes, you can. However, your next test cannot be within 90 days of your previous test. You should produce your previous test report form/certificate to allow details of your test to be checked. You can use this time to develop your English skills with one of our courses, or using our language resources.

Remember, your IELTS band is unlikely to improve without further English language study.
