NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ADULT CONTINUING EDUCATION

Membership organisation promoting adult continuing education. Site includes details of their remit, publications and events. Also information on projects, including those focusing on disadvantaged groups.

SUPPORT FOR LEARNING

General listing of internet resources to support education, training, lifelong learning and career planning. Advice for students and everyone involved in education. Includes a calendar of religious festivals and information on health and funding.

INCLUSION

A free catalogue of resources for teaching professionals, learners, parents and carers. Resources include publications, software, hardware, guidance and links to other organisations to aid independent living and learning. Also discussion groups. Resources can be added directly to the database.

BIZ/ED

Biz/ed is a unique business and economics service for students, teachers and lecturers. It includes a virtual learning arcade, providing interactive online models and simulations for economics lecturers and students.

E-LEARNING

A resource for educators and training professionals with thousands of selected and reviewed links to e-learning articles, white papers, research reports; examples of e-learning solutions; vendors of e-learning content, technology and services.

INTRALLECT

Intrallect Ltd is a new spin-out from the University of Edinburgh. Intrallect will provide the next generation of software for efficient delivery of e-Learning. Site has some demonstration exercises using Intrallect software.

OPEN LEARNING COMPANY

The Open Learning Company develops content to support open, distance and web-based courses. It publishes its own content and also acts as a sales channel for partner organisations, including universities and private training providers.

INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR DISTANCE LEARNING (ICDL)

The International Centre for Distance Learning (ICDL) is a centre for research, teaching, consultancy, information and publishing activities based at the Open University. The site includes a literature database, an institutions and courses database, and information on ICDL services.
