In partnership with the Radio Academy, we supported the founder of the Baghdad Radio Dilja to attend the 2004 UK Radio Festival in Birmingham. This is this only annual UK radio forum attended by all professionals in the industry, from the BBC to independent producers to Industry regulators. For more information, click here.
We worked with the BBC World Service Trust to provide a two week study tour in the UK by 20 senior Iraqi media managers, editors and journalists. The training focused on technical training as well as pluralistic media, media policy and regulation, and media best practice. Trainees came from over 20 different Iraqi broadcasting agencies and the Academy of Fine Arts.
The study tour complemented the programme run in Jordan for 150 Iraqi media technicians in new technologies and methods of working, including picture editing, camera and sound recording skills, non-linear editing, creating graphics, lighting and safety, broadcast technology and recording equipment maintenance.
