Asia

We started working in Asia in China in 1940, when we started a scholarship programme there, and subsequently opened an office in Chongqing in 1943.  Since then we have expanded throughout most of the countries of Asia.  Find out more about our work in the region on this page.

Central Asia
After the break-up of the Soviet Union at the beginning of the 1990s, we expanded our work in Central Asia, and now have offices in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, as well as Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Caucasus
