Management Express Fast Track Series
Move into the speed lane.

Management Express provides a suite of knowledge and networking resources to assist professionals, like you, in developing their careers. Management Express is designed to meet the needs of ambitious managers seeking to stay in touch with peers and experts and to keep pace with the latest thinking and practice in management in a self-directed way compatible to a busy lifestyle.

What is the Fast Track Series
The Fast Track Series is a self-access continuous professional development set of modules for people intending to pursue professions in management.
Three modules are currently available:

Effective Influencing and Negotiating
Leading Your Team
Starting Your Own Business

Who can take part?
The Fast Track series is for:

Recent graduates
Early-career managers (with 2-3 years on the job)
People designated for new management roles
Managers seeking to refresh their knowledge and skills.

How do I benefit from this?
The Fast Track modules help you develop the soft skills necessary for being effective in management roles. The modules also provide an opportunity for you to notch up continuous professional development points from some professional bodies.

When you sign up for a module, you obtain a workbook which guides you through the best resources (books, articles and DVDs), available on a particular topic. You participate in discussion sessions and take a ‘knowledge check’ resulting in a 'British Council Certificate of Achievement'.

The 3 components of Fast Track
1. A workbook made up of 40 'workouts' on the most useful aspects of the best books, learning guides and professional articles on the topic.

2. Participants on the Fast Track modules are given the opportunity to form discussion groups by topic, subject or other interests. This aims to promote deeper understanding of subject areas as well as encourage members of a group to challenge perceptions and initiate positive radical thinking.

3. The 'knowledge check' is a 120 question test to check your understanding of the topic. A pass mark of 80% is needed to receive a 'British Council Certificate of Achievement'.

How much does it cost?
The cost of each Fast Track module is ¢700,000 (as at 1 January 2007). You will also have to sign up for membership of the Learning Centre to gain access to the books, learning guides and professional articles required for studying the topics.
