British Council in Ghana is a leading administrator and invigilator for a range of local and foreign examinations. We can arrange for you to take your examination(s) at one of our centres.

We provide services for professionals who wish to take vocational or professional qualifications from UK or local professional organisations and students taking local, foreign or UK examinations by distance learning among others.

Information for individuals
We can make arrangements for you to register and/or sit for an examination with us whether it is locally administrated or offered by a foreign university. In most cases, the institution you are taking the examination with may ask you to contact us to arrange for you to take your exams through us.

For a fee, we liaise with the institution to ensure that we meet the standards set for their examination procedures and other regulations. We will arrange to receive your examination material and have it securely stored for the day you have to take the examination. We will inform you of dates, times, venues and requirements you have to meet before the day of the examination. This will be done at least 3 days before the day of the examination.

You will be supervised by a British Council trained invigilator and we will ensure that your institution receives all your answer scripts via a secure postal service. We may not be able to provide specialised equipment or material that may be needed for certain examinations. You therefore need to contact our Examinations Services to find out whether the examination you want to take can be administered by us.

Information for institutions
We work with you to provide administrative services for students taking examinations with your institution. We ensure that the examinations are conducted to your standards, requirements and regulations. We provide secure courier services (of all exam-related material) before and after the examination.

Payment of charges for these services have to be decided between the institution and the student(s). Fees may be paid either by the examining body or candidate(s), according to the specific arrangements for each examination.

Some institutions may have local representatives for a particular programme. We advise that institutions in this position should inform their reps of any arrangements they make for their candidates to take examinations through us. This avoids the confusion of potential 'poaching'.
