Creative Africa is a three-year project led by the British Council involving training, mentoring, networking and secondment across creative industries. This is the umbrella project for youth development through culture that is placed above other existing projects, such as WAPi and the Young Creative Entrepreneurs’ Programme.
Creative Africa will roll out across five countries in East and West Africa from April 2008 and at least three more are planned from April 2009.
Through Creative Africa, young African “creative entrepreneurs” between the ages of 18 and 35 will have a forum to explore and foster their own freedom of expression and to develop their skills and business prospects in the creative industries (music, design, fashion, film, broadcasting, visual arts, publishing and the performing arts).
