Chevening is the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) scholarship scheme, aimed at future leaders, opinion formers and decision-makers. The programme is managed by the British Council worldwide, supporting over 2,300 international students annually to study in the UK.
The aim of the British Chevening Scholarship Programme in Jordan is to offer an opportunity to young and dynamic Jordanians, who wish to study or train in the UK, to achieve their goals by providing financial assistance.
Scholarships are normally awarded for post-graduate courses, i.e. Masters Degrees, but applications for short courses of three months duration or more, are also considered. The programme does not offer scholarships for Undergraduate or PhD studies and only supports studies in the area of sporting governance and management.
There are 2 schemes:
- Fully funded scholarships – these are full scholarships that cover tuition fees, monthly stipend and various one-off allowances.
- Part funded scholarships – these vary from award to award and cover part/full stipend and/or allowances.
- If you wish to apply for a scholarship, please download the Chevening Sports Scholarship application form. Fill it electronically, and send it to info@britishcouncil.org.jo
